The plant grows into a really tall shrub and can reach 3 to 8 meters in height. The plant has a pyramidal habit and is a shallow root: the roots of the plant conquer the ground over a large area. Therefore, other plants are often planted nearby, which protect the root area. The gum tree-like leaves are bicolored, that is, the upper surface is dark green and glossy and the underside is reddish brown and felty. What the plant is proud of is the imposing, wonderfully fragrant flower. It is simple and tulip-like and opens from April to June. It should be noted, however, that it takes a few years for the first flower buds to form. The Magnolia grandiflora convinces with several varieties, so that every hobby gardener can find something.
