In the course of time we have got to know some really nice rituals for the wedding ceremony, which are ideally suited for the wedding ceremony. We present our favorites to you below.

Sand ceremony

The sand ceremony is almost a classic at weddings and is popular for a reason. The idea behind it is to emphasize the bond between the bride and groom. During the ritual, you as the bride and groom mix the many grains of sand together. This means that in the end it is no longer possible to separate the different grains of sand from one another. Just like you as a married couple.

You can read more about this ritual in our article Sand ceremony at the wedding in the overview.

Memory box

You have definitely seen in one or the other film how a time capsule had to be dug out of the ground in a very specific place. You could also plan something like this on the day of the wedding in the form of a memory box. Of course, you don’t have to bury them.

The memory box will be filled by the guests at the wedding, as you can read in the linked post. For the first wedding anniversary or later, as the bridal couple, you can open the box and then see what your guests have put in there.

Braided ribbon of love

A particularly beautiful ritual for a free wedding is the braided bond of love. During the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom braid a ribbon with three ribbons. There is one ribbon for the groom and one for the bride and one ribbon for love. Love connects the bride and groom. You can read more about the ritual in the post linked above.

to plant a tree

Would you like to see how your love symbolically grows from day to day? Then plant a tree during the wedding ceremony. The tree to be planted at the wedding should reflect the common marriage. Like your love, the tree takes root and gradually gets bigger and bigger.

Your guests will of course also be included in this ritual for the wedding ceremony. This is how they could hang small pendants with wishes on the branches of the tree. In our blog you will find your own article on the topic of planting trees during the wedding.

More suggestions for rituals at the wedding

Like your wedding, the possible rituals for a wedding are very individual. As an alternative to the rituals already presented, you could, for example, simply “only” plan a wedding vow. But lighting a wedding candle would also be an option.

In general, you should discuss the possible rituals with the person who performs the wedding ceremony. If you have decided on a professional wedding speaker, he will definitely have his own suggestions for a nice ritual at the wedding ceremony.
