What are succulents?

Succulents usually attract attention because of the unusually grown leaves. The different growth forms with the striking leaves are a distinctive feature of the plants. Incidentally, the best-known succulents are cacti, although these only make up a very small part of the plant group. For this reason, a distinction is usually made between cacti and “other” succulents.

The name of the plant group is derived from the Latin word “suculentus”, which means “rich in sap”. The leaves, which serve as a water reservoir, are often succulent. This water reservoir is why the plants are considered to be one of the easiest garden and pot dwellers.

How can succulents be used at the wedding?

Succulents come in many different types, shapes and colors. They stand for perseverance, patience, resilience and warmth – everything you want for a happy marriage. Not only do they go well with a wedding because of the meaning, but above all because of the wide range of types, shapes and colors.

At a succulent wedding, of course, the plant also belongs on the wedding cake. You could theoretically use this as a kind of cake topper, but we would recommend that you only use it for decoration. Otherwise you would first have to clear the cake before you cut it. So feel free to place succulents in small pots next to the cake for decoration, or use a few succulents for decoration on the side of the wedding cake.

We ourselves always find it very successful when the various components and colors run through the entire wedding like the proverbial red thread.
