Angela Bassett shone brightly on the red carpet. The actress was nominated in the Supporting Actress category for her performance in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Angella Bassett previously won a Golden Globe for this performance. Aged 64, the actress has played many iconic roles in her thirty-year career. Angela Bassett wore a purple Moschino dress for the second Oscar nomination of her career. She was also the very first actress to be nominated for a role in a Marvel Studios film.

Moreover, the trailer for this film was broadcast in preview on the occasion of this 95th edition. At 22, Halle Bailey is the first black woman to play the lead role in a Disney live action. Singer and songwriter Tems is making history by becoming the first Nigerian artist to be nominated for an Oscar. His contribution to “Lift Me Up”, the soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever by Ryan Coogler, interpreted by Rihanna, is at the origin of this. Tems left us speechless with her gorgeous white Lever Couture dress. The actress paid a moving tribute to Chadwick Boseman before the song “Lift Me Up” rounded it out. The black Jason WU dress, simple and classy, was enhanced with a layered bun, created by hairstylist Larry Sims, the centerpiece of the look. Danai Gurira is one of the figures of short and natural hair in Hollywood, as did another Black Panther actress, Laeticia Wright, who opted to go natural last year. They were not among the nominees, however, their red carpet appearances have been noted for their flawless beauties. Director Ava DuVernay sported her beautiful locks on a Louis Vuitton creation. Model Winnie Harlow delicately wore a Giorgio Armani creation, while Janelle Monáe opted for a Vera Wang ensemble. With an orange that enhanced her complexion, the three braids with metallic details, made by the hairdresser Nikki Nelms came to sublimate the singer. As for the Martinican director Euzhan Palcy, it is with her emblematic short haircut that we find her, as well as a Linda Stokes creation.
