VIEW
A new plant has just appeared in my living room: the Calathea orbifolia. I love its rendering and the design of its leaves but it seems that it is difficult to maintain.
To keep it healthy, we recommend avoiding drafts, placing it in a fairly bright environment and only watering it when the soil is dry.
I placed it in front of the radiator but don’t worry, it doesn’t work anymore, given the milder temperatures. So I’m crossing my fingers that she’s still here for a long time and in good shape!
TOUCH
“Isle of Dogs” Abrams Editions
Being a big fan of the work of Wes Anderson, I tend to collect all the books related to his films. The latest is the one on film isle of dogsreleased a few years ago and that I really liked.
On the program, detailed behind-the-scenes photos, drawings, inspirations, interviews: A real mine of information and a feast for the eyes if you’re a fan like me.
TASTE
Foodie Love in replay until May 31, 2022 on Arte
Thanks to your recommendations and that of the photographer Émilie Guelpa de Griottes, I discovered the Spanish series “Foodie Love” on Arte and it was a big crush!
If you like food, spicy romances, melodious accents and Japan, you can’t help but love this series full of humor, originality, sensitivity and sensuality.
Laia Costa and Guillermo Pfening
I try not to divulge anything but during 8 episodes of 30 minutes approximately, it is about two people who meet in a café and then continue their date in a cocktail bar, a ramen stall or a gourmet restaurant. The game of seduction is full of panache and complicity. Their passionate (and sensual) way of talking about food makes you want to fly to Barcelona (or Japan). The charm operates at the bend of a word, a look, a joke. Little by little, we become attached to the characters in whom we discover a touching fragility and a few secrets.
Emotion and gluttony are at the rendezvous: A real good surprise that this mini-series! (Attention it is only available in replay until May 31, 2022 !)
THE SMELL
Incense Hibi “Oak moss”
I particularly like candles to give a cozy feel to the house, but sometimes I burn japanese incense from time to time, for the visual and olfactory serenity it brings me. Here are the two kinds of incense that I particularly like and whose smell is not too heady.
HIBI : This mini stick of incense in the shape of a match is intended to burn for 10 minutes by placing it on its small adapted mat.
Incense Nippon Kodo Kayuragi “White Peach”
NIPPON KODO : A Japanese brand of incense sticks created in 1575. I particularly appreciate this “White peach” scent in the range kayuragi but you can also find scents that are more woody (Japanese cypress), spring-like (cherry blossom) or tangy (orange mikan)
There are a few different varieties in the shop of the Japan Culture House if you want to get an idea of their scent.
HEARING
When my favorite artists start animating a podcast, I can only be thrilled. The 2 podcasts that I mention to you are in English (it is necessary to master a minimum of the language of Shakespeare to appreciate them)
AT YOUR SERVICE : the singer Dua Lipa receives a guest from eclectic worlds: Journalism, fashion, music. The interviews are conducted in a natural tone while remaining interesting and inspiring. Dua seems curious about what her interlocutor is going to teach her and it’s rather pleasant to listen to.

TURN UP FOR THE BOOKS of BBC Sounds : If you like to read and discover new things, it is interesting to follow the discussions of Dan Smith (the leader of my favorite group Bastille) with Irenosen Okojie And Simon Savidge. The guest changes with each episode depending on the theme (love, family, politics, society, adventure, etc.)
