The perfect bikini / swimsuit for your figure

Finding the right bikini or swimsuit is not always easy. But there is the perfect piece for every woman that showcases her assets and conceals small problem areas. I’ll show you which swimwear suits you best.
Which bikini suits which figure
In order to find the perfect swimwear, you should first assess your figure type. You certainly know your strengths and problem areas. Wide hips, stomach, narrow shoulders, big breasts or short legs? You know it – with a touch of fabric it’s not so easy to show off our assets. But the market offers a variety of perfect bikini and bathing suit models with which we cut a really good figure.

Figure type A, H, O, X, Y for bikini and swimsuits
This blog proceeds on the basis of these 5 body types and presents models for each type that can come into question. Can’t identify yourself exactly?
ATTENTION: Not every woman can be assigned to one of these figure types, many are “mixtures”, this is completely normal. Some also have a very balanced figure and are not one of these specific body types. They just want to accentuate certain parts of their body and have a great bikini figure. After all, we all want it, don’t we? Then you will find your solutions for several body types. I go through all step by step in this blog.
Swimwear for all body types!

1. Bikini for strong hips and small bust – figure type A
Feminine curves on the hips, thighs and bottom are characteristic of the A-figure, also known as the pear. These women often have a little more underneath and should therefore consciously draw attention to the top with a special top.
Wide hips and small breasts – you can wear these bikinis
With a few tricks you can show off your curves very well. Wear bikini bottoms and high-leg bottoms for longer legs. When it comes to panties, do without anything that emphasizes the lower area: lacing on the sides or ruffles make your hips appear wider. Go for retro-style bikinis instead, where the curves are cheated away by slightly higher-cut bottoms.

Swimsuit blue € 90,-

Striped bikini blue white 100,-

Red swimsuit with violants at the neckline € 90,-
Bikini for small bust size
As a woman with small breasts, you can create more volume. This succeeds with ruffled tops, wild patterns, ruffles and push-up tops. flashy
Accessories bring out a small breast just as big, eg shiny gold chains or wooden pearl necklaces. They direct your gaze upwards. Very simple bandeau tops and triangle bikinis will certainly suit you very well, but make the chest flatter.
Bikini for larger bust size with cups € 59,-
2. Bikini for the straight figure – figure type H
This type of figure is quite straight. Shoulders, waist and hips are about the same width. This H type tends to appear athletic, somewhat flat when viewed from the side. If you can identify yourself here, there are few limits to your choice of bikini.
Which bikini for a sporty, straight figure?
Triangle, halterneck, underwired and bandeau bikinis suit you. Tops with embellishments and ruffles conjure up more bust size and give the narrow hips more volume! Cut-out swimsuits with side openings also visually emphasize your waist. Push-up swimwear increases your bust size. Hipsters with fashionable gimmicks also create more volume.
Wider trousers or high-waist models are good for you. When it comes to patterns and colors, you can choose bright or wildly patterned models. Ruffles, lacing and ruffles also visually add volume.

Ruffle bikini by Watercult from € 79,-

Cut out swimsuit by Michael Kors € 149,-

High waist bikini with bandeau top € 105,-
3. Bikini and swimsuit for figures with belly and breasts – figure type O
This type of figure has the center of gravity in the middle of the body, the waist and hips are roughly the same width and are softly shaped. The waist is high, often just a few centimeters below the bust, which is usually slightly larger. On the other hand, legs and arms are rather slim and the hips are not too pronounced.
Belly bathing suits
Swimwear that diverts the focus away from the middle of the body, conceals a tummy and instead emphasizes slender legs or the décolleté is ideal for tummy types. A dark color in the stomach area, for example, conjures up a narrower waist. There are also special models that consist of several layers of fabric and shape you in this way. These swimsuits are too uncomfortable for me, they feel more like shapewear and they dry very slowly.
If you have a larger bust, models with an underwired bra, a wide neckline and a lot of décolleté are excellent. Or you wear waist pants bikini briefs that can “hide” the belly.
You can also use a pareo to cover up the “problem area of the stomach”.

Swimsuit in retro look with gathered waist and underwire € 99,-
Bikini for women with a belly and big breasts
Cutouts with fashionable details such as stripes, small openings or subtle ruffles suit you. Bikinis with preformed cups and underwire shape your bust perfectly. Large patterns also look good.
As a woman with a lot of breasts, you should avoid triangle bikinis, because the thin straps can’t really show off your breasts – they also don’t have enough support. Bandeau tops don’t look so good on you either, as they tend to flatten the chest.

Bikini with high bottoms and underwired top, also in black and red € 99,-
Tankini for the figure with a belly
A fashionable tankini with a loose top paired with bikini bottoms draws attention away from the body and towards your beautiful legs or arms. Most tankinis aren’t that modern, I love this one. Also available in dusky pink, blue and black.

Brown tankini, also in black and rust red from €45,-
4. Swimwear for curvy figure – X figure
The hourglass figure stands for classic femininity like Sophia Loren. The curve of the bust and hips is emphasized by a very narrow waist. Shoulders and hips are the same width, hence the term X-figure.
Bikini for curvy women with a small waist
If you fit this figure type, there are no limits to your choice of bikini: everything looks good on you – e.g. triangle, bandeau, halterneck or underwired bikinis with tight or high-waist briefs.
High-waist models emphasize your curves in a particularly beautiful way. If you prefer swimsuits, make sure your slim waist is emphasized. If you’re shorter, high-cut legs are more appropriate than hipster pants. You can wear plain, subtle models or floral or animal prints.

Bikini with scalloped edges and underwired bra in many colors from € 39.00

Sporty tight bikini in classic triangle look from € 45,-

Swimsuit with accentuating waist by Charmline €120,-
Swimwear for chubby women
It is often recommended that chubby women should choose muted colors or solid tones. I don’t think that’s a good thing because it has something of hiding and holding back. Why? For example, a chubby or round woman can look great in an exotic patterned bikini.
5. Bikini for broad shoulders and narrow hips, figure type Y
The upper body of this figure type is more powerfully built with relatively broad shoulders, but has narrow hips and slender legs. Sometimes the torso is broad, sometimes the bosom is large. This type of figure is also often referred to as a “swimmer figure”.
If you belong to this type, you should definitely emphasize the waist and especially your beautiful long legs! The design of your top should be as subtle as possible. With bikini bottoms, everything is possible that pleases and makes “more”.
The right bikini for big breasts and narrow hips
You draw attention to your hips with colorful bikini panties, ruffled or laced models. A halter top with thin straps makes the shoulders appear narrower. Deep necklines also narrow the shoulder area and at the same time ensure a beautiful décolleté.
Asymmetrical bikinis for figure type V
Asymmetrically cut tops are ideal for you, because they distract from the broad upper body or lower back.

Black bikini by Melissa Odabash €289.-

Bikini with tropical pattern € 69,-

Black swimsuit for a beautiful figure € 160,-
What can a bikini or swimsuit cost?
There are cheap models starting at €29 and there are no limits to the upper end. In my experience, the cheap ones wear out quickly, lose their color, the clasps break and after 1-2 seasons the joy is over. Then you have a piece of plastic that cannot be disposed of sustainably. You also have to search again. You know: If you buy cheap, you pay twice.
Why quality pays off
I would therefore rather invest a little more in the perfect looking and fitting swimwear. If your bikini or swimsuit lasts for several years, collect a small selection and be prepared for different styles. For example, sportier models are more suitable for the Baltic Sea than the Cōte D`azur or the Caribbean; ).

Beach bikini accessories
In my opinion, a straw hat always belongs on summer vacations. The classic model with a large brim makes your look elegant or plays with the hippy style. But it is difficult to transport in a suitcase. Alternatively, sporty straw caps or fashionable bucket hats can protect you from the sun.
