You can make a perm yourself without chemicals and heat, but what can you realistically hope for? Of course, the results will not be as permanent, especially on thin hair.
However, with the right approach and thanks to the use of the right care products, you can achieve a beautiful hairstyle for a day or a few. Furthermore, you can shape only part of the hair in curls or waves. Flexible hairstyles with different levels and highlights are totally modern. If you only perm some sections of your hair yourself, you are very likely to be right in line with this trend.
Use the curlers to get such a retro style
1) Wear products for artificial waves after washing!
Curly hair totally transforms our appearance and that is why it has become a classic. Manufacturers of hair care products are aware of this. For years they have been working on formulas that make it possible for us to do a perm ourselves with a few simple movements. Find products from trusted brands that both condition your hair and give it curly or wavy texture. Most of them have the structure of a styling cream and are usually applied to damp hair.

2) Use the classic hair rollers or the tube hair rollers

In the cosmetic stores you can find a very convenient alternative to the usual curlers. By this we mean a kind of elongated textile or plastic strip. Actually, you could make curlers of this kind yourself. Divide your hair into small sections and wrap them around the middle of them. Then you should tie them up.
3) The quick braid method
Wash your hair as usual, but give yourself more time to dry afterwards. While the hair is still damp, you should create braids that are the desired size of your curls. Use spray fixative for more hold. Before that, you could enter a care product for curls (method 1). Allow your hair to air dry for one to two hours. Then take them apart and comb through carefully with just your fingers.

4) Bantu knots
Do you think that you can manage the very small curls without chemicals? You will indeed have difficulties if you want to do such a perm yourself without heat and pollutants. However, it is not impossible! The banto knots are a good idea in this case. Proceed as with the braid method, but instead of simple braids, you should tie Bantu knots. 5) Take good care of your hair after the perm!
Even if you do a very gentle perm yourself, it puts a lot of strain on your hair. The reason for this is that you are at least changing the usual structure in some way.
