Bridal hairstyles to match the dress: perfect & harmonious

Probably the most important decisions of every bride are her wedding dress and her bridal hairstyle. That is also completely understandable. After all, one wishes for an extraordinary and successful bridal styling for the wedding day. In addition to your personal taste and what looks good on you, it is particularly important that the style of the bridal hairstyle matches the style of the wedding dress. We have therefore put together some tips and bridal hairstyles for inspiration. This guarantees the perfect bridal styling.
A few principles for styling your bridal hairstyle
Whether an elegant bun, a girly herringbone braid or gentle waves: there are many beautiful wedding hairstyles for short, medium-length and long hair. When choosing, you should keep one thing in mind: Only choose a hairstyle that you have worn before and that you know you feel comfortable with! If you z. For example, if you don’t like an elaborate updo, you’d better do without it. Also keep in mind that not every hairstyle suits every face shape equally well. For example, with a round face shape, loose hair is more flattering than a severely slicked-back updo.

It is also important that you do not choose your bridal hairstyle detached from your wedding dress, your wedding concept and the location – after all, the overall picture has to be right! This may sound complicated at first, but it is absolutely not. Particularly casual bridal hairstyles do not go so well with a very noble ambience such as a castle in contrast to an elegant updo or loose hair styled in a sleek look or glamor waves. These stylings, on the other hand, would not harmonize so well with a romantic forest wedding.

Just follow these two basic rules:
- eye-catching wedding dress – rather simple hairstyle
- simple wedding dress – gladly a more eye-catching hairstyle (if you want)
Another important basic requirement for perfect hairstyling: you should take good care of your hair – especially if you plan to wear your mane open. But now enough of the theory: now we will show you the most beautiful bridal hairstyles – here you will surely find the right one for your wedding dress!

Bridal hairstyles elegantly pinned up
The absolute classic among the hair styling ideas for the wedding are elegant updos. These are particularly good if you want to showcase your wedding dress. Is your dress e.g. B. with an elegant button placket on the back or beautiful embroidery on the décolleté, these highlights should not be covered by your mane of hair. There are many wonderful ideas for updos suitable for weddings – let yourself be inspired by these:

Striking updos
Some brides like to wear a strict, high bun for which the hair is pulled back in a sleek look. This style is one of the most elegant bridal hairstyles and therefore goes best with wedding dresses without lace. On the other hand, hair that is lush and curled up with a loosely styled forehead can be worn perfectly with wedding dresses with lace. They look just as ladylike and elegant, but are not quite as strict.

Classic chignon
The classic chignon is a bit more reserved than ostentatious updos because the hair is pinned at the nape of the neck. Here, too, you can play wonderfully with more elegant and girlish designs for bridal hairstyles, for example if you let the front strands of hair fall loosely.

Pin your front section of hair forward with bobby pins. Braid your remaining hair into a braid. Loosen it a little and then put it on your neck where you fasten it with bobby pins. Then alternately place a strand of hair from the front part – alternating between the left and right side – over the braid and fix it again with enough hairpins.

Bridal hairstyles with a side bun
Why not wear the bridal hairstyle sideways? Maybe a side bun is just what you want! To do this, take a thick strand of hair from your left side and twist it from top to bottom in the direction of the right side. As soon as you get to the right side, gather all the hair and shape it into a snail. Secure them with bobby pins and your side bun is ready!

Bridal hairstyles with playful, romantic braiding
If you are planning a rustic wedding, you will most likely say yes to your loved one in a dirndl. Many brides choose a playful, romantic braided hairstyle. But this is absolutely not a must. There is usually quite a lot going on at the bridal dirndl itself, so it might not hurt if the bridal hairstyle is a little more reserved or chin-length hair is simply blow-dried open and worn openly without accessories.

But don’t worry, braided hairstyles don’t just go with traditional costumes. They also underline the fairytale look of a wedding dress with lots of lace and a sweeping tulle skirt. However, braided bridal hairstyles create a more girly look if that is what you desire.

As with updos, there are many ways you can artfully braid your mane of hair. For example, opt for an elegant herringbone braid or a braided crown of hair. And best of all: You can spice up the beautiful braiding art with additional flowers – these give your bridal hairstyle a summery touch. Think carefully about how strictly you want your bridal hairstyle to be braided. Loosely braided hair looks softer and gentler, especially with airy, summery wedding dresses.

Beautiful half up styles
For those of you who just can’t decide whether to wear your hair down or down, stylish half-up styles are just the ticket. With the half-open hairstyles, only the front part of the hair is pinned up or back, while the rest of the hair remains open. This way your hair doesn’t fall in your face all the time on your wedding day without having to wear it closed. Whether it’s a casual half-bun, a bun dangling loosely at the back of the head, or strands of hair at the front that are fixed at the back with a pretty hair clip: half-up styles couldn’t be more varied! A cool half bun goes very well with a very casual boho or ethno-chic wedding dress.

Carefully styled half-ups are suitable for e.g. B. to underline a corsage wedding dress or a trumpet-shaped mermaid dress. Half-open hairstyles also harmonize perfectly with halter wedding dresses, sleeveless wedding dresses or off-the-shoulder dresses because they emphasize the décolleté and shoulders and playfully play around them. In addition, wonderful elfin wedding dresses can be complemented with half-open, wavy hair and flowers.

Wear long hair open
If you have a dream mane, you can of course also wear it openly. There are incredibly beautiful bridal hairstyles for long hair that look very elegant with glamor waves or worn straight or that underline a romantic bridal styling with the right accessories.

Bridal hairstyles for short hair
Not every bride has a long mane of hair – and that’s not even necessary. If you have short hair, you have more hairstyles to choose from than you can possibly imagine. The same applies here: If you want your wedding dress to be the center of attention, it is better to opt for an inconspicuous hairstyle. In this case you can e.g. B. a little waves – provided they reach your chin.

If, on the other hand, you want to wear a simple wedding dress, your short haircut should come to the fore. It’s very easy: for example, with a cheeky, cool styling, with a lush wreath of flowers or eye-catching, glittering accessories.
