Ok, the headline isn’t 100% true. But definitely for this outfit! Especially now in summer and late summer I can shop for maternity clothes in my own closet, so to speak. I’ve always liked loose dresses, or dresses with a lot of stretch. I’ve never had a small bust anyway, so I still have a good selection of “old” clothes that fit in the third trimester.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve gained a lot of weight. That’s how it should be. Although I don’t know exactly how much. Because here in England you don’t get weighed by the doctor. Apparently they don’t do that routinely anymore, and I don’t have a scale at home. Instead, only the level of my fundus is measured and entered into a table that is individually tailored to me. I don’t have a small (or super big) stomach either, just completely normal. It actually feels like 95% of my old wardrobe no longer fits me.

I’ve already shared the specific maternity clothes I bought here. But I can still style some dresses well. Like my absolute favorite dress from Jan’n June. I took a look, I received it as a PR sample five (!!!) years ago and it doesn’t seem to be just one of my favorites. It is still available in the online shop. A real long-running favorite. You can find it here, for example.
I adapted it a bit to my pot stomach: I gave the whole look a better silhouette with a soft, wide belt from another dress. Otherwise the dress would just hang wide and shapelessly on me, which wouldn’t be quite as advantageous. Still ok, but I just find the outfit much nicer this way. Add my sandals from Bourgeois Boheme (also bought 5 years ago, I had a good fashion year, haha, unfortunately they are no longer available and I don’t like the new designs that much anymore) and the chic maternity look is complete!
In the fall I will simply combine the dress with boots and a cardigan!
