Jachnija (Bulgaria)

 

Hearty, colorful and wonderfully aromatic – Jachnija is a braised dish that convinces with tender meat, lots of vegetables and a creamy sauce made of tomatoes, red wine and acid cream. This recipe originally comes from Bulgaria and was also known and appreciated by the friendship between the socialist countries in Germany. The dish is particularly tasty through the mixture of different types of meat, which are slowly braised together with onions, carrots and peppers. Rounded off with a creamy tomato-cream sauce, there is a hearty food that can be wonderfully prepared-ideal for family meals or the Sunday table.

Ingredients

  • 500 g as different as possible fried meat
  • 65 g of pork fat
  • Salt
  • broth
  • 200 g small onions
  • 200 g carrots
  • 100 g of red peppers
  • 1 bottle of tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons of red wine
  • 1/8 liter of acid cream
  • paprika

preparation

  1. Fry the meat cut into strips in hot fat, sprinkle with salt and fill up a little hot broth or water.
  2. Braise the meat half.
  3. Add the prepared entire onion that cut the carrots cut into pencils and the peppers cut in stripes.
  4. Fill up a little more boiling broth and cook everything.
  5. Finally add tomato paste, red wine and sour cream and season with salt and peppers.
