Press trip – an invitation from The Amauris Vienna
Vienna has been one of our favorite cities for years and is certainly one of the most beautiful in Europe, if not the world. Hardly any other city allows tradition and modernity to merge so perfectly and offers such a large number of magnificent buildings in the Baroque and Art Nouveau styles. Vienna’s most beautiful new hotel opened in one of these impressive city palaces in the spring: The Amauris Vienna.
The luxurious boutique hotel The Amauris Vienna on Vienna’s Ringstrasse
Located in the heart of the city, on the famous Kärntner Ring, 62 rooms and suites have been combining traditional Viennese charm in high, stuccoed rooms with lots of art and an extraordinary, modern design.

A very special gem catches the eye as soon as you check in: the historic elevator with cast iron cladding that glides through the stately staircase.

The lobby offers a very nice first impression of what guests can expect in the hotel: a detailed design with a symbiosis of modern and traditional elements – garnished with a large pinch of art.

The design of The Amauris Vienna
The color world: Elegant, dark green, blue and red tones meet a lot of white and black, mostly in the form of fine marble.

A total of 160 tons of the finest marble were used in the hotel. The rooms and suites are entered through magnificent marble doors, and different types of the precious, timeless material are used in all areas of the hotel.

Design classics from brands such as Vitra and Minotti as well as extravagant lamps from the Italian manufacturer FLOS set accents, art and lovingly selected accessories can be found everywhere in the house. The Croatian interior designer Nikola Arambašić is responsible for the stylish overall picture.

The rooms and suites at The Amauris Vienna
A total of 62 rooms and suites accommodate guests at The Amauris Vienna, which is part of the renowned international hotel association Relais & Châteaux.

The rooms and suites are divided into eleven different categories, from a 20 square meter “Classic Single Room” to the magnificent “Opera Suite” on 120 square meters with a private balcony and a view of the Ringstrasse and the Opera.

This extraordinary suite even has a large dining room and a walk-in closet.

Other highlights of our hotel tour were the “Loft Suite” with a view of the Karlskirche on the top floor of the hotel and the “Grand Maisonette Suite”, which is spread over two floors flooded with light.

A very special detail: each room offers a small, individual art exhibition. Affectionately referred to as the “Collection of Pieces”, all rooms and suites house a collection of carefully curated works of art and accessories, such as sculptures, crystals, illustrated books or board games.

The cuisine at The Amauris Vienna
The gourmet restaurant Glasswing and the bar and bistro of the same name are located on the ground floor – with a small but fine menu and sophisticated cocktails. Both invite not only hotel guests, but above all the Viennese.

In the morning, a question arises that is not so easy to answer in this impressive setting: Breakfast either in the Schanigarten surrounded by plants with a view of the Ringstrasse and the Vienna Opera, or in the beautiful rooms of the Glasswing gourmet restaurant?

Incidentally, the many works of art in opulent gold frames in the restaurant catch the eye. Impressive: These are exclusively originals that are part of the private collection of the owner family, which has grown over generations.

But back to breakfast: guests can choose between a variety of sweet and savory dishes. These include classics such as omelets, Bircher muesli and buttermilk pancakes, as well as quinoa bowls, Kaiserschmarrn and avocado sourdough bread. Every breakfast wish is fulfilled!

During our stay, the gourmet restaurant was unfortunately in the summer break, but we were exceptionally able to enjoy a very special special in the bar, which is normally offered with the exquisite seven-course gourmet menu: a non-alcoholic drink accompaniment, which can be used as an alternative to the classic wine accompaniment can choose.

A fantastic range that offered us a wide variety from non-alcoholic sparkling wine to fermented drinks and complex cocktails. An absolute heartfelt recommendation and a very exciting alternative to wine and co.

A dinner in the gourmet restaurant is definitely a reason (or rather: one of many reasons!) to come back again.

Our favorites at the Glasswing Bar & Bistro? The “Chitarra” spaghetti with pickled yolk and truffle and the burrata with melon. Not to mention the lemon pie for dessert. Heavenly!

Wellness at The Amauris Vienna
If you want to relax, you can visit the wellness area with indoor pool on the first floor. “Small but fine” is a very good description here, because the guests can expect everything that makes them happy in the intimate spa. A beautiful indoor pool with daylight thanks to the glass roof, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, an ice fountain and comfortable wellness loungers. Accompanied by harmonious sounds in a very relaxed feel-good atmosphere. Perfect for relaxing a few hours before dinner after an active day in the city.

Our conclusion? The Amauris Vienna is a beautiful, urban hideaway that makes the heart of every design lover beat faster. A hotel that is perfectly styled down to the last detail and still creates a cozy feel-good atmosphere. A temporary home – in the very best location in Vienna!
