My tips on how the casserole with liver cheese juicy, spicy and perfectly succeeds
I love to cook. Nevertheless, I particularly like quick family recipes such as my casserole with liver cheese! And it is really easy to prepare. Simply bake the potato cubes, mix in the liver cheese and top with egg-sour cream and cheese. Bake the whole thing again in the oven – done. Easy, right? So that the casserole is also nice and juicy and golden brown on the table, my best tips in terms of ingredients and preparation quickly come here.
- Proceed potatoes to be tightened. You may already know that from other casseroles, such as my potato casserole with ham. They keep bite and shape, which makes them great for the casserole.
- Use fresh liver cheese from the butcherBecause it just tastes much more aromatic. For me, this is the better choice than the packed variant from the supermarket-both for the casserole and for other recipes, such as my liver cheese burger or my liver cheese with fried egg.
- Only fry the liver cheese briefly and bakedso that everything stays juicy. I fry the meat cheese over medium heat. With my stove, level 7 of 9.
- Bake the casserole at the top and bottom heat in the oven. With this setting, the cheese crust succeeds beautifully golden brown. Since the creation is only briefly baked, the ingredients remain juicy. Incidentally, I use grated Emmentalers who have a slightly spicy note. If you like it milder, you can also take grated Gouda.
So you can make my liver cheese upright faster and vary
My liver cheese casserole can be prepared really easily and quickly. On some days it has to go turboschnell – in these cases I use these 3 tricks:
- Option 1: Use the remaining potatoes from the previous day. No matter whether salt potatoes, jacket potatoes or fried potatoes – into the baking dish. The great here: Since the potatoes are already cooked, the fried liver cheese and Co. Just cover the casserole with cheese and baked, done.
- Option 2: Prepare the casserole completely and bake with the cheese at a later date. I like to do that when the recipe is available as dinner. Then I prepare the creation in the morning, cover it and store it in the fridge for so long. In the evening he only has to go to the oven for 15 minutes.
- Option 3: Instead of potatoes on Gnocchi or Schupfnudeln. They are fried in the pan in 5 minutes and can be processed directly. Positive side effect: This is how a variety comes in.
The casserole can also be expanded and vary great with leek, butter vegetables or sauerkraut.
