Beauty Food Almonds + Recipe for Almond Drink

Why do I like to snack on almonds*? Because they not only taste incredibly good, but also have so many positive properties. Because almonds should not be missing in a good, balanced and basic diet. They are absolute nutrient bombs and contain 15 essential nutrients. These include, for example, magnesium, zinc, potassium, copper, B vitamins and vitamin E as well as good, valuable unsaturated fatty acids, proteins and fiber, which makes them an absolute beauty food.
Beauty from Within – You are what you eat
Again and again we like to forget what a great effect nutrition can have. The right diet not only strengthens our well-being, ensures that our organs and metabolic processes can run smoothly, but also lets us shine on the outside. Whether radiant skin or strong hair and nails. We can influence all of this through diet.
And almonds in particular should not be missing from your daily beauty routine:
- They are rich in zinc, which is known to strengthen skin, hair and nails.
- They provide the B vitamins niacin and riboflavin, which help to maintain our skin.
- They contain a lot of copper, which plays a role in normal skin and hair pigmentation.
- They contain plenty of vitamin E, which can help protect our cells from oxidative stress caused by external environmental factors such as pollution and UV rays
In addition, the role of almonds in skin health has even been scientifically proven. They suggest that almonds may benefit aging skin by improving wrinkle severity and reducing skin pigmentation. I have already reported on this in the following blog post, for example. So you know what to do? 😉
The German Society for Nutrition (DGE) recommends a handful of nuts per day. So what can we do? Eat a handful of almonds (approx. 30g or alternatively 23 almonds) every day and do something good for our health and beauty.

Personally, for example, I always have a small snack tin with a portion of almonds in my handbag or next to my laptop, as they are the perfect snack for on the go or when you’re hungry. Otherwise they belong in my morning porridge or I make a nutrient-rich plant drink from the almonds. Here you can find a super simple granola recipe, for example. And so that you can see how quickly and easily you can make an almond drink, I would like to share my recipe for it with you, so that it might be easier for you to meet your daily requirement of almonds 🙂
Make your own almond drink quickly and easily
For 400ml plant-based milk you only need:
- 100g almonds
- 400ml water
- optional: 3 dates (pitted) or 1/2 tsp bourbon vanilla
- a bowl
- a sieve
- a linen towel
- a blender
Preparation:

- Soak 100g almonds in lukewarm water overnight.

2. Drain off the water, rinse the almonds well and place in a high speed blender.

3. Add 400ml of water…

4. … and mix until a creamy mass is formed.

5. Season to taste and, depending on the desired consistency, add a little more water or, depending on your taste, add some bourbon vanilla or a few dates.

6. Now press the creamy mass into a clean linen cloth and collect it in a bowl with a sieve.

7. Wring out the linen cloth at the end. (The almond pomace leftovers are ideal for the porridge the next morning 😉 )
