An open-end wedding celebration is not for you? We’ll tell you how to announce the end of the wedding party. We have put together various ideas and suggestions with which you can ask your guests to go home in a beautiful way.
It is not always the wish of the bridal couple to end a wedding at a certain moment. Sometimes there is also a curfew at the location of the wedding celebration, where an end of the wedding celebration is fixed.

Inform guests in advance
If you have a set end planned for your wedding, it’s a good idea to let your guests know in advance. For example, you could write in your wedding invitation that the wedding reception will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. or similar. So name the specific end time. If you are planning a schedule for the wedding day, you could also include the end of the wedding party as a single point.
Ideas and suggestions for the end of the wedding party
Even if your guests have already been informed in advance about the planned end of the wedding celebration, it is still not particularly nice to simply switch off the light. With the following ideas you could end the celebration in a nice way.
Graduation dance of the bride and groom
With the opening dance you ceremonially open the dance floor. Appropriately, you could not only close the dance floor with a final dance, but also end the wedding celebration at the same time. A final dance also looks a little nicer in a schedule than if it just says the end of the party.
When it’s time for the bride and groom’s final dance, the DJ or a presenter may ask all guests to stand around the bride and groom. They could then hold burning sparklers, or alternatives to sparklers at the wedding.
Not every bridal couple likes to dance. Instead of a final dance, a speech would of course also be possible. This does not necessarily have to be held by the bridal couple, but can of course also be planned by one of the guests if necessary. In the speech you could say thank you for the wonderful and unforgettable day and review it. But maybe you can also include an anecdote that the famous wedding night is about to begin.
Solemn procession of the bride and groom
If you, the newlyweds, want to leave the wedding, then you could plan this in the form of a celebratory move out. For example, your guests could hold all the sparklers or wedding wands in their hands and form a corridor towards the exit. Your DJ can definitely introduce this and moderate something.
Of course, this can also be combined with the closing speech or the bridal couple’s closing dance.
Announcing a final round
Known from restaurants is the announcement of a last round, where the guests can finally order something to drink. Of course, this also works at a wedding and is a good way to announce the impending end of the wedding party.
Fireworks at the end of the wedding celebration
Somewhat more expensive than the ideas and suggestions presented so far to announce the end of the wedding celebration is your own fireworks display. This has the advantage that you are already outside with your guests, outside the location. This is the perfect way to end the wedding.
In general, you should ask yourself whether it is really worth spending so much money on fireworks at the wedding. Also, don’t forget that you need a permit for a fireworks display.
end of the wedding party
At our own wedding, we didn’t have an official end set. At some point we were still happy when the guests gradually left at a late hour. With getting ready early in the morning, it’s quite a long and, above all, strenuous day. We were glad to be able to lie in bed at some point.
In retrospect, we would not only prepare a schedule for the guests, but also indicate a planned end on it. However, we probably wouldn’t necessarily insist that the wedding party end exactly on the appointed time. Of course, it always depends on how well the party is going.
