Form in botany Hydrangeas a family of its own, namely that of the hydrangea family. And this family is not exactly small. It includes around 70 species that can be found all over the world. For “August Sky” we chose blue autumn hydrangeas, which, in contrast to white summer hydrangeas, are much more durable and easy to care for. Nevertheless, there is a little trick you should follow when caring for the beautiful cut flower for a particularly long time: cut the hydrangeas long and diagonally with a sharp knife after their arrival and then hold them in hot water for about 10 seconds no more bubbles rise. As a result, the flowers recover quickly from the strenuous transport and bloom again shortly afterwards in full splendor. Did you know that autumn hydrangeas are also perfect for drying? To do this, take the flowers out of the vase and place them in a container without water. You will have dried some of your flowers of the week for a long time! You can find more information and care tips for hydrangeas here.

Eucalyptus is a popular cut flower for every season. But it comes into its own particularly well in late summer and gives “August Sky” the finishing touches. The beautiful plant originally comes from Australia and is a true survivor who hardly needs any water and germinates again even after bush fires. In Australia it is also often used as a medicinal plant.

Our vase recommendation for “August Sky”

For this long-stemmed bouquet, we recommend a relatively narrow floor vase that gives the hydrangeas enough support.

And now let yourself be enchanted by our flowers of the week!
