Design an outdoor bar and start the summer season in a good mood
Designing an outdoor bar – the important things at the beginning
Before you start building the bar in the garden, you should first choose the best place for it. A bar can stand on the edge, but it should still be present and ready to receive. For example, a round wooden bar that spreads out around a tree would be a good idea. You can use the branches of the tree to hang lanterns or lamps. The frame of the bar is actually assembled relatively quickly. But before you design the outdoor bar, you should consider whether and if so, which extras your bar should have. Should the bar have a sink? Then you should lay the water pipe. Exactly the same applies to electricity. If you want a lighted bar and chilled drinks, work out the details with your electrician. An outside bar can also be mobile. If you only use the bar for the summer, you shouldn’t stand outside in wind and weather. When you have thought everything out, you can start with the actual construction.
A garden bar made of beer crates or Euro pallets can be assembled quickly and easily and you can look forward to a small budget
With fresh paint and cool lighting, you can finalize the self-made outdoor bar and be happy with the result
The skillfully made outdoor bar can be a nice addition to your garden
Enjoying the beautiful weather in good company and with cold drinks is simply priceless
Build your own outdoor bar
Our idea is to build a DIY outdoor bar out of pallets. All pallets should be washed out well in advance and possibly lightly sanded. In the pictures below you can be inspired by different constructions. But all of them are structured similarly. You determine the area over which the bar should spread and cover it with pallets. Where necessary, you can saw something off. Around the floor line up the pallets vertically. Here you should have thought of your safety and have already taken care of gloves and safety shoes. The pallets are connected to each other with metal brackets and screwed tight. Stronger screws are recommended here so that the construction really holds up. Even the cordless screwdriver will not help you much, because you need an impact drill. If the construction is strong enough, you can put on a suitable work surface and use it as a counter.
The construction of the bar is relatively simple and can succeed in a few manual steps
The pallet should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and dust before use
Where necessary, you should saw and sand the pallet to size
You can bring the Euro pallets together with solid metal brackets and screw them together with large screws
The surfaces intended for shelves should be sanded clean and covered with wooden boards
Always check that the construction is strong enough and holds together
When everything is set up and secure, you can attach a suitable work surface intended for counters
Remove the remains with a damp cloth and prime and paint with the desired color
Design a garden outdoor bar
Having an outside bar in the garden promises a fun summer. When the counter is ready, you now need seating. On the bar there should be space for glasses, bottles and of course a cutting board. Decorating with flowers and moss can make your garden bar look inviting and cozy. In a picnic basket or old suitcase you can keep fun serviettes, cutlery, plates, bottle openers and maybe even tea lights ready. So you have the most important utensils to hand every evening or weekend in the garden. The right lighting must not be forgotten in a garden bar. The lighting creates a romantic and cozy atmosphere. The easiest thing is to make or buy lanterns and lanterns yourself and hang them on the trees. Only the music is missing here. Are you already looking forward to the wonderful evenings in the garden?
Provide electricity and water line if you want to connect appliances
Put all the things that are important to you on the bar shelves so that they are always at hand
If you would like to place a grill next to the bar in summer, you should think about the necessary utensils
If you don’t have enough space, a hanging bar wouldn’t be a bad idea either
There can be order in the garden if you take care of it in time
You should also think about the seating while designing the outdoor bar
Table decoration with friscekhen flowers and moss increases the sense of well-being
A bar, even if small, is always a good idea for the summer in the garden
The work surface and the bar itself should be comfortable for pouring
A bar framing a tree might seem like a good idea, but nobody wants bugs in their drink
The design of the outdoor bar depends more or less on the wishes and needs of the owner
The outdoor bar should look inviting and ready to receive guests
