Oatmeal pancakes are a healthy breakfast
Why is oatmeal beneficial for health?
The nutrient composition of oatmeal is very balanced. They are a good source of protein, soluble fiber (beta-glucan), good carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Not only do they help with weight loss, but they also help control cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar levels. In addition, oats also contribute to a healthy gut and skin.
Oats are a rich source of magnesium
Why is oatmeal good for you?
Oats contain beta-glucans, a type of soluble fiber that slows the absorption of carbohydrates into the bloodstream. Slow digestive processes prevent drastic spikes in blood sugar and insulin that would otherwise stimulate our body to produce and store fat.
Oats are a rich source of magnesium, which is important for enzyme function and energy production, and helps prevent heart attacks and strokes by relaxing blood vessels, supporting the heart muscle and regulating blood pressure. There is evidence that eating foods rich in magnesium reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Experimental and clinical data also suggest a link between magnesium deficiency and depression.
