Preparing coconut yoghurt yourself does not take much time and is not difficult at all! You need very few ingredients, a yoghurt maker and a fermenting glass.
- 800 ml coconut milk
- 1 tbsp starch
- 1 Sashet vegan yoghurt cultures for the authentic slightly sour taste
The coconut yogurt can have a mild or firm flavor
- Fill a bowl with coconut milk and stir to dissolve the solid ingredients.
- Take 200g of the coconut milk and put it in a saucepan. Add the starch and stir well. Boil the mixture and let it cook for two minutes. Don’t forget to stir in the meantime. Then put the mixture back into the bowl and stir in the remaining coconut milk.
- Then add the yoghurt culture and mix well again.
- Feel the yoghurt maker with the mixture and leave it there for 12 to 16 hours. Keep in mind that the longer it ferments, the harder the yogurt will be.
- Put the yogurt in the fridge overnight.
- The yoghurt will keep for about 5-6 days.
