As always on the second Sunday in May, we are celebrating Mother’s Day again this year. But the way of “celebrating” may look a little different than usual, similar to the year before. So again not in the big family circle … Maybe not even on site with your mom, mom-in-law or stepmother. But even if you can’t stand in front of the door with a bouquet of flowers and a small gift, you can still give your mom a treat. And what are mothers most happy about? About gifts that have a lot of love in them – so something homemade is the perfect Mother’s Day gift.
So what do you think of a surprise box with a flowery picture frame and a few cute little things? The best thing about it: You can simply send it to your mom by post if you can’t see it in person this year.
For this Mother’s Day present you need:
- Picture Frame
- Gift box or a shoebox
- small scissors
- colorful cardboard
- round stick or chopsticks
- Sweets and other little things
- Wrapping paper or cardboard
- Hot glue gun
That’s how it’s done:
Let’s start with the picture frame. Of course, you need some great photos of yourself or your best memories, which you place in the frame. We have ours with us, by the way LALALAB to print. To give the picture frame that special something, you can decorate it with the super trendy paper flowers.
To do this, you simply look for a few different templates on the Internet. If you enter “rolled paper flowers template” in a search engine, there are countless templates that you can easily print out. A little tip: print directly on colored paper or thin cardboard. Then you save yourself the step of cutting out the template and then transferring it to the cardboard.
Whether printed or drawn, if you have the template on the cardboard, you cut it out carefully. Then you get a spiral with a spiral with small curves. Now it’s time to roll up. To do this, you take a round stick – an Asian chopstick is very suitable for this – and begin to carefully wind the spiral around. With the first flowers, you need a certain instinct, but with a little practice it will surely be easier for you. To fix it, you can finally put some hot glue on the underside of the flower. If you’ve wrapped tight enough, it should hold without glue.
You can now test the rolled flowers on your picture frame and if you like the arrangement, attach the flowers to the frame with a little hot glue.
You like the arrangement, attach the flowers to the frame with a little hot glue. Most of it is now done! Now you can start filling the box. Depending on the size of your gift box, you should line the bottom with some packaging material or compressed cardboard. Place the picture frame in the middle of this. All around you can then arrange the other little things like your mom’s favorite sweets. For example, we have a screw-top jar with gummy bears and a few chocolate hearts from Intoxication filled and packed in our box.
Last but not least, we put a Bloomy Days voucher for an annual flower subscription in our box.
We promise you that your mom is guaranteed to be happy about this Mother’s Day present. Especially when it comes in the mail as a surprise. Have fun tinkering!
