Advertising/ Many questions always come to our Camping equipment in the mobile home. Where are the chairs from, which pots do you use for the gas stove, what do we absolutely need and what can we do without?
Here comes the Listing of our equipment for our Knaus Boxstar Solution 4 van, which we have been driving as a family since 2020.
The mobile home is a van. Compact but super comfortable
We drive a Knaus Boxstar Solution 4. After many years in which we had rented all types of motorhomes, we decided on this box van.
The advantages: A compact, well thought out van that has everything we need. 4 beds (fold-down bed for the kids under the roof), bathroom with shower, spacious fridge, plenty of storage space and a cozy interior. It is manoeuvrable, consumes less fuel and fits into normal parking spaces.
We feel agile with him and still have everything on board.
I have summarized a few of our tours (more to come):

How Much Camping Equipment Do You Really Need in a Motorhome?
Little! We are more minimalist campers. We don’t have a lot of things that you observe on campsites with others.
No awning. No outdoor kitchen. Not even a big carpet. Hardly any tools, almost no toys. But real crockery, not plastic. We have concentrated on a few, but really good gadgets. And so far we haven’t even had the feeling of not being prepared.
We don’t want to live worse on vacation than at home.
Everything must be practical and beautiful (the latter, of course, is objective). We are seldom in one place for more than three days, which means it has to be easy to stow away and require little effort to put in and take out.
Our must haves:
- real crockery, good pots and a clever grill
- Cozy bedding
- Cuddly towels
- Comfortable camping chairs that look good too
- Decoration: Yes, but not in such a way that you have to undecorate for an hour before you start driving

Camping chairs and camping table made of wood
Yes, we went for the heavyweights. If you value weight, you should rather look at chairs made of aluminum. But they are very beautiful and also comfortable, and they can be folded lengthwise, which fits very well in our garage.
Camping chairs made of wood & canvas: Our chairs are from the Nigor brand. We bought them from Camping Wagner. Unfortunately, I could no longer find them in the range, but I found these alternative wooden camping chairs for you:
Bo Camp Butterfly Chair
Suhu folding chair, which is more of a nice, comfortable armchair
Spatz Woodstar, a low folding chair with a wooden frame and canvas

Wooden camping table: Our model ‘Sandpiper’ is also from Nigor. We have it as a dining table and as a lower side table. Unfortunately it can only be found used. But the table by Spatz looks the same.
outdoor carpet: We do not have a large awning carpet. A small plastic runner is enough for us to take off shoes and not stand directly on the grass floor. These rugs are seasonal, I ordered ours from Westwing. They are beautiful and not so violently ‘camping style’ 😉

Camping equipment in the camper kitchen
The kitchen is important to me in the camper. After all, the supply of the team contributes significantly to the good mood on the board.
dishes: Nordic Sand We have large and small plates, deep bowls, cups, a serving platter and two very small bowls.
Pot and pan set: The Tefal pot and pan set with removable handles is very space-saving. The pots can be closed with the glass lids. Works very well on the gas stove.
Enamel casserole dishes: We often use two rectangular casserole dishes as a salad bowl, to cut up fruit or to roast vegetables on the grill. They are light and robust.
gas grill: The Primus Kuchoma travels with us. I like it because you can also put a casserole dish with feta and vegetables on it. Thanks to the lid, it becomes a small oven.
wine glass: Short style, gray glass and a really stylish design offer the wine glasses from hay.
espresso maker & milk frother: The black espresso maker is a must-have. Fresh coffee in the morning with fluffy milk foam – a dream! Here is the milk frother.
draining mat aka anti-slip mat while driving: This drip mat has a double function for us. When washing dishes, it directs the drained water straight back into the sink. It fits perfectly on our hob.
During the journey, the children use it on the table because it prevents books, trays, etc. from sliding back and forth. I’m just saying game changer!
Stainless steel bread boxes: Good and airtight lunch boxes are essential for trips out. Here, too, we use the boxes from Silberthal, which are stable and tight.

Practical motorhome gadgets that really make sense
led lamp: The LED lamp from Lumensky has proven itself as a cozy light that is also bright enough. It can be charged via USB cable, is made of robust metal and has three brightness levels.
Leatherman multi tool: Scissors, knife, file, tweezers, screwdriver…. Instead of a toolbox, we have a Leatherman with us. High quality and super practical!
drawer element: We have equipped the cupboard under our refrigerator with a plastic drawer element. Supplies, but also odds and ends find their place here. I really don’t want to miss that anymore!
Gray euro boxes: These stable and stackable gray boxes are indispensable in the trunk. There many different sizes. We use them thematically: one for shoes, one for toys, one for the base stuff, one for the ramps, hose and cables etc.
Expander clothesline: Very practical because this clothesline is elastic and you don’t need any clips. The clothes are simply clamped into the line.
HANG hammock: The HÄNG hammock is very light and can be folded compactly. It is made from balloon silk and is supplied with a hanging system. The kids love them very much and even sleep in them at night!
