The blueberry not only tastes delicious, but also looks very nice in the vase. Find out more information here.
Botanical name: Vaccinium myrtillus
Genus: Heather family
Plant family: Ornamental wood, cut trees
Occurrence: Temperate and Nordic zones of Eurasia
The German name of the blueberry has its origin in “berry growing on the heather”. The bilberry (bot. Vaccinium myrtillus) grows in forest areas with acidic, peaty soil. In the Alps it even thrives occasionally up to an altitude of 2500 m.
The blueberry is also ideal on its own in your apartment, for example in a high floor vase. It is considered a very beautiful ornamental wood and is a popular decorative item.
Care tips for blueberries
The blueberry branches are very easy to care for. Simply give the stems a fresh cut when they arrive and place the twigs in a vase of cold, clean water. The ornamental wood prefers it to be cool, so for the longest possible shelf life, do not place the vase near, for example, warm heating air.
Blueberries are also ideal to combine with other flowers and the blueberry branches can also give the others additional hold.
