A more colorful Tomato salad was not missing in any GDR kitchen-especially in summer when the Tomato were particularly aromatic from your own garden or from the weekly market. This simple recipe comes from a Children’s cookbook And shows how quickly and tasty a fresh salad can be prepared. With just a few ingredients like Onionsomething Lemon juice and Parsley There is a crunchy companion to bread, sausage or potato dishes. And best of all: it is so easy to prepare that children also (almost) create it all by themselves.

And so it is done …
Cut the washed tomatoes into slices, mix them with the finely chopped onion. Prepare a salad sauce from lemon juice, oil, pepper and salt and pour it over the tomato slices. Spread on the top of finely chopped parsley. Instead of parsley, you can also use chives or a little garlic.
