At the moment we can still look forward to a very warm, sun-drenched early autumn and combine our summer dresses with trench coats and knitwear; at some point in November autumn and winter will merge together. Some fashion favorites only “work” in autumn, while others accompany us all winter long.
While we like to combine sneakers with bare ankles with trousers on warm autumn days, we tend to choose boots in the depths of winter – with thick socks, of course. Our favorite sweater is a loyal companion throughout the cold season, as is the midi dress with a dark floral print. We style it with a leather jacket on sunny October days and when it’s below zero in January we combine it with a sweater and the thickest coat over it. And so on …
But today it’s not about the possible stylings, but rather about the favorite pieces themselves. Curtain up for “eleven must-haves that shouldn’t be missing from our fall wardrobe”!
By the way, I don’t want to show you short-lived trends here, but rather absolute classics that enrich our autumn/winter wardrobe year after year.
Eleven favorite pieces for the late year (2023)
A pleated skirt
The pleated skirt in midi length is an absolute all-rounder that can be combined in a variety of ways and goes particularly well with knitwear. You can find styling inspiration here, among other places!
An oversized sweater
An oversized sweater that we can combine with almost any trousers is always a good choice. Beautiful, casual and sooo cozy! Particularly popular this year: models with striped patterns and turtlenecks.
A camel coat
Clearly THE classic coat for late year. Timeless, elegant and an absolute styling all-rounder.
A casual knitted dress
You can’t go wrong with a knitted dress in late year, because with the right accessories it is the ideal “partner” – both in the office and at an evening dinner in a chic restaurant.
Black boots
No matter whether the elegant version with a high heel, Chelsea boots or a tough biker model: black ankle boots go with almost every look!
Perfectly fitting (artificial) leather trousers
With an oversize knitted sweater, a casual blouse, boots or sneakers: once you’ve found the perfect (faux) leather pants, you’ll have a lot of styling fun with them!
A dress with an autumn floral print
I don’t need to explain why we need a dress like this in our wardrobe, right?
A brown leather handbag
If I had to choose just one bag for the late year, it would definitely be a timeless, high-quality leather model in a brown tone.
A cardigan
A cozy cardigan is a must-have in our fall/winter wardrobe – preferably with a maximum hip length and in creamy white, with a striped pattern or in a wide variety of brown shades.
Modern pearl jewelry
Pearl necklaces are conservative? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! For a few seasons now, they have been delighting in different sizes on a chain strand, or in a natural, organic form. As a delicate choker, in combination with link chains or modern, minimalist elements. And by the way, pearls harmonize wonderfully with knitwear…
A trench coat
Last but not least is the coat that I recently wrote a declaration of love for: the trench coat. At some point in the late year the camel coat replaces the trench, but on milder autumn days the trench coat is always “The One and Only”.
