As you know, trends are generally not made to last (with a few exceptions). The hour of judgment has therefore come: which ones will we forget in 2024?
Whether they last 6 months, 1 year or more… Fashion and beauty trends last for a limited time. And since we are slowly but surely arriving at the end of the year, here is a small list of trends that will be forgotten on January 1st.
Long nails
Long nails have dominated trends for several seasons now. At the same time, they are very practical if you are passionate about nail art and are used to opting for very elaborate looks. But this fall-winter, more and more short nails have established themselves on our Instagram and TikTok feeds. Certainly, they offer a little less room for fun but their clean and chic look makes them more desirable than ever. Now a question arises: are you ready to take the plunge?
The box bob
The short bob, also called Box bob, has been spotted on (almost) all fashionistas’ heads in recent months. Unfortunately, it will no longer be as trendy when 2024 arrives and will be replaced by a fuzzier and, above all, less difficult to style square: the choppy bob. More layered and less strict, the latter offers more volume and more movement to the hair than the box bob which is not necessarily intended for all hair types (especially the finest).
The gua sha
Gua sha is a jade or quartz stone that is used on the face to activate blood microcirculation and carry out lymphatic drainage. If this method still finds followers, its real effects on the skin have not been scientifically proven. This is why we are gradually seeing this trend fade away. for the benefit of photostimulation devices such as LED masks. The latter send light (whose wavelengths are more or less deep) and can tackle different skin problems. From wrinkles to acne to psoriasis… Many issues can be addressed by these devices. A much more interesting investment than buying a gua sha stone…
Grunge
The grunge trend dominated the year 2023. Black eyes, dark red lips, messy mascara… Avril Lavigne-style makeup has never been so exploited. But his reign was only short-lived and this rock-influenced look was gradually replaced by more refined beauty treatments according to the analytics company Mintel.
