What ingredients do I need to make roasted almonds myself?

My recipe is super simple and only consists of a few ingredients. I make my almonds in a pan. You need:

300g Almonds (natural, whole kernels)
100 ml water
1 parcel vanilla sugar
150g Sugar
Something Cinnamonto taste (approx. 1-2 tsp)

You can also find the ingredients and the step-by-step instructions with lots of photos of the individual steps in the blog post in the recipe card.

You can save my recipe card as a PDF file on your PC, print it out or share it with others.

How do you make roasted almonds like at the fair?

Preparing the homemade almonds is very easy and takes about 15 minutes.

First, put the water with the sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon in a cold pan. Then you heat the liquid and bring it to a boil.

Once the water and sugar mixture is boiling, add the almonds.

Cook the almonds in the liquid, stirring constantly with a wooden or silicone spoon.

After about 5-7 minutes the mixture will begin to thicken. Keep stirring until all the sugar is crumbly and sticks to the almonds.

Immediately transfer the almonds from the pan onto baking paper and spread them out so that they don’t stick together. The best way to do this is to use your silicone or wooden spoon. You can also use two forks.

Let the almonds cool for a few minutes before enjoying them.

Can you make candied almonds in a nonstick pan?

You can prepare roasted almonds in both a non-stick pan and a stainless steel pan.

The almonds are roasted a little more in the stainless steel pan because the temperature can be higher.

Tip: The best way to clean the pan is to fill the pan with hot water immediately after preparation.

Put the pan back on the stove and let the water simmer very gently for about 20 minutes.

The sugar dissolves as if by itself.

How do I store roasted almonds?

The finished almonds can be stored in an airtight container for approx. 3-4 weeks.

To do this, put the almonds in a cookie jar with a lid.

Why are my candied almonds soft?

If your almonds are soft, you probably didn’t stir them long enough.

Follow my instructions exactly. I’ve been making these almonds for many years and they always come out crunchy.
