Design a Mediterranean garden – pictures, ideas and tips
Do you know the enchanting flair of the Mediterranean countries? Anyone who has ever been to the Mediterranean coast will surely dream of the Mediterranean world again and again. Sea, fine sand and caressing sunbeams – you would like to take this dreamlike environment home. Well… that’s unfortunately impossible, but we believe in the saying: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
That’s why we’re looking for a way to transfer the Mediterranean flair into our home. Of course we should do without some things, but the main idea can still be interpreted. Our goal is one mediterranean garden to design.
Mediterranean garden and its typical plants
A Mediterranean style garden is characterized by special plant species that are typical of the Mediterranean coast climate. Such are the Mediterranean cypresses, lemon and orange trees and other citrus plants, olive trees, hemp palms, evergreen pines, etc. The nice thing is that most of these plant species are available as container plants in Germany. And some Mediterranean plants you could swap out for confusingly similar plant species.
The hemp palm is a typical symbol of the Mediterranean garden, which could also thrive in your home
Make the garden Mediterranean – lemons in your own courtyard
A mediterranean garden is cozy and lively. A relaxation corner is self-evident and often set up in the shade of a citrus tree or a hemp palm. Comfortable garden lounge furniture including hammocks will help you to reflect the relaxing atmosphere of the Mediterranean world.
