For the following Advent wreath in boho style, we combine fresh eucalyptus with the dried flowers hare’s tail grass and pampas grass. We tie them to a straw wreath with wire and decorate it with golden Christmas balls and a golden candlestick.
DIY Advent wreath with pampas grass and eucalyptus
With the following step-by-step instructions, you can easily imitate the Advent wreath with dried flowers!
tools you need
- a pair of wire cutters
- and a pair of flower scissors
These are the Materials, that we used for this homemade advent wreath:
- a wreath of straw;
- a gold candlestick for four candles;
- four golden candles;
- small golden Christmas balls with wire;
- wax points for the candles;
- and thin floral wire.
We used the following dried flowers:
- fresh eucalyptus,
- pampas grass
- dried rabbit tail grass

Advent wreath with dried flowers – instructions:
Step 1: Cut plants
The first step is to prepare the dried flowers.
So cut the stems of eucalyptus and rabbit tail grass short with the flower scissors.
Take small clumps of pampas grass.

Step 2: Tie wire to straw wreath
Now attach the floral wire to the straw wreath. To do this, leave a piece of wire protruding, wrap the wreath around several times and then twist the wire.
Step 3: Tie plants to the wreath
Now the binding begins! To do this, the plants are wrapped layer by layer and repeatedly placed on top of each other.
First put pampas grass on the wreath, then some eucalyptus green and rabbit tail grass. Then wrap the wire around everything. Place another layer of the plants over the wire, wrap everything tightly again and pull.
The small Christmas balls can be easily attached to the wreath. Simply place the Christmas bauble next to the plants and wrap it again. Attach four bundles of three balls in different places.

Step 4: Insert candlestick
Now just put the golden candlestick in the wreath. Maybe press with a little force.
With us, the candlestick fits perfectly to the size of the wreath.
Step 5: insert candles
Now insert the golden candles into the slots of the candle holder.
To do this, simply press the wax dots onto the underside of the candles and then into the candle holder.
